Aszú 6 puttonyos (2013)
Voltaire’s famous quote for the Aszú wines is very much our own credo for this wine. The tradition of this “wine of kings” since 1737, hermetically sealed in a bottle, continues to this date. Only certain vintages are used, so this unique result can be produced. This limited edition wine has been aged for three years in 300-litre oak barrels in our cellars. Even if you decide to pass it down to the next generation without opening it, you can safely do it for more than half a century in its own bottle - and it’s highly likely to be highly collectable in a few decades’ time!

Sommelier’s Notes: This may be a sweet wine, but it is also quite acidic, made entirely of botrytised grapes (and its 6 puttonyos rating means it is of very high quality). Honey notes, caramelised apricots, orange and tangerine zest, raisins, dried nuts (mostly hazelnuts and walnuts) dominate its taste and leave a long aftertaste. Like every sweet wine, it pairs harmoniously with rich desserts and cheeses, but it can also be consumed in place of dessert as well.
